My Son’s Love Affair

Symbolic meaning, pulling energy,
drew me in with invisible force.
I heard its whispers. Was I dreaming?
or was it the call from my soul?

How could I not succumb to my intuition?
It was love at first sight.
The most beautiful and artful rendition
of my beloved dragonfly.

Exquisitely crafted and artistically painted,
in turquoise and brown shades.
Flying over serene waters created
ripples of amusement for my son as well.

He would look at the painting
for long periods, then stare,
smile, babel away, and giggle.
Next, he would get on a chair
and closely look at it
as if he had something to say,
and something he whispered
to his newfound love affair;
perhaps a little secret
to be kept between them.
